Food Storage Tools

I love to garden and I have tools that help make gardening easier. This season, I bought a new hoe that I absolutely love. It helps me dig up the weeds so I don’t have to bend down and get them. I love my hoe so much that I am going to space my plants based on the width of it. This will allow me to maximize production while combating the weeds. I have other tools I use in the garden- my gloves, a bucket, a shovel, etc. All of them have their different uses.

We also have tools when collecting and maintaining our food storage. Food storage websites, apps, shelving, etc. are all tools that can help us as we buy, store, and use our food storage. One of the tools I love to use is my local extension office. They are a great resource to ask questions and find out information based on where I live.

So with these tools in hand I am better able to keep up with my food storage. However, these are just tools. They don’t actually do the work for me. My shovel does not plant my seeds. My hose does not  do the watering. I have to get out and use the tools if I want my garden to grow.

The same goes for food storage. Our food storage tools make it easier but they aren't going to go out and buy it for us. They aren't going to keep up with the inventory. They can't actually prepare the meal. It takes effort to have a functioning food storage that we are using and not wasting but the effort is valuable and needed. I could start listing all the benefits of a functioning food storage but I bet you already know. Or maybe that could be a post for another day.

In the meantime, use your tools well.
